[FC2] A domain name is essentially a signpost on the Internet. Every website you've ever been to, and every email you've ever composed, has used a domain name in its address. People register domain names in order to 'stake a claim' to a particular name -- whether for business or personal reasons. Once a domain name is registered to a person or company, it is that person's to use exclusively as long as they continue to pay the yearly renewal fee. Our domain name is medsvc.com, and we also own cybertx.com and globalbusinesses.com.
[FC3]Virtual hosting is the provision of Web server hosting services so that a company and individuals can publish web sites on the Internet without having to maintain their own Web server and broadband connections to the Internet:
Domain name (yourname.com, .net .org .us)!
Website hosting: Front Page or Unix Virtual server, Web Interface to check e-mail, Create POP accounts, Create aliases, CGI-Bin, Much more!
[FC4]The domain name system (DNS) is the way that Internet domain names are located and translated into Internet Protocol addresses. A domain name is a meaningful and easy-to-remember "handle" for an Internet address. For example, using www.medsvc.com is mapped to an IP address for our business website. However, DNS management allows you to manipulate the domain name. If we wanted to use a different network or computer for our customers, we could in theory, add customer.medsvc.com to a different IP and service the customers with a Customer Relationship Management application. It then becomes easier to remember customer.medsvc.com instead of the new IP address.
[FC5]The Email Defense service includes the following features and these features are executed before touching your network or computer. The features are managed via a web portal.
Anti-Spam: The Anti-Spam feature is automatically included as the default feature with each domain. Several spam filtering methods are used to identify spam messages. Messages identified as spam are moved to the Spam Quarantine where they can be viewed, retrieved, and confirmed as
spam or as allowable email. Using the Email Defense Portal, you can
define various policy settings for the Anti-Spam feature.
Anti-Virus: The Anti-Virus feature checks incoming email messages for viruses and worms. Threats are identified, quarantined, and blocked before they
reach your inbox. Using the Email Defense Portal, you can define
various policy settings for the Anti-Virus feature.
Content Attachment Filtering: This service checks both message content and message attachments for unwanted, inappropriate, and potentially offensive content. Using the Email Defense Portal, you can define the criteria used to filter content and attachments, and define the action taken when unwanted
content and attachments are detected.
